LAND: Studio and Gallery in Brooklyn Founded in 2003, Land is a specialized nonprofit art program in DUMBO that offers adult artists with Nero (neurological problems or challenges) the opportunity to express and empower themselves through the arts. By becoming cultural contributors, these artists are changing the perceptions of what it means to be disabled and what it means to be an artist. The objective of Land is to aid in portfolio development, artistic mentoring, offer group and solo shows and inclusion in contemporary art shows and auctions. The hoped for result, in addition to aiding participants with behavioral strategies and life skills is to provide cultural exchange through the arts. Studio and Gallery hours are Monday thru Friday 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Saturday by appointment and special showings. Call 917.670.9322 or see www.landsite.org
